Within the cemetery extension on the western part of the site lies Section 51, our Muslim burial area. Separated by tarmac paths lined with deciduous hedgerows, it offers space for 70 graves, each lined with specialist prefabricated liners in accordance with the requirements of the Muslim faith, and all set perpendicular to the direction of the Qibla. We make sure there are always two graves prepared, so our communities can bury their loved ones in line with their wishes.
Twelve people are buried in Section 38, just inside the old cemetery boundary towards the western edge. This site is no longer used, but new signage and landscaping will provide a lasting memorial to those buried there, and will connect Section 38 with the newer Muslim burial area in Section 51.
